A Note on this Special Tenth Anniversary Issue

As we go to print this month, there are two exciting developments that we have decided to include as the main features of the May Forerunner.

First, this month marks the tenth anniversary of The Forerunner – which was conceived as a “prophetic voice” to the youth of America in May of 1981. Under the leadership of Bob and Rose Weiner and Lee Grady, The Forerunner has consistently provided remarkable insight into world events and has been a chronicle of what God has been saying to the young people of our nation for the past ten years. This Tenth Anniversary Issue chronicles, year by year, some of the most significant articles which have appeared in The Forerunner since May 1981. The coverage of the most powerful events of the past ten years begins on page 6. We have printed some additional copies of this issue which are available at special bulk rates. For ordering information turn to page 23.

And second, a newly formed campus outreach ministry – Christian Youth International – has begun in the Soviet Union as a response to the unprecedented spiritual awakening which is now affecting thousands of Soviet students. Bob and Rose Weiner, with the help of directors, José and Joyce Pascua, have a powerful vision to plant churches on every major university campus in the Soviet Union. What is happening in the Soviet Union is so phenomenal that we have devoted special coverage in this issue to the work God has begun among the youth of the largest nation in the world. After having spent some time among the students of the Soviet Union, we have some very exciting testimonies to tell you.

This Special Tenth Anniversary Issue marks a watershed in the history of The Forerunner as a publication – we stand at the doorway of a new beginning which has occurred as a result of God’s goodness. We invite you to celebrate with us! God has a plan for you to be a part of what He is about to do among the young people in all the nations of the earth. The events of the next ten years will be even more powerful than anything which has occurred in the past!
