Dear Mr. Freeh,
This letter is a request for an investigation and prosecution regarding a violation of law. Specifically, I believe my rights provided by the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Law, have been violated.
I am a pro-life referral counselor. Today I gave information packets to two women who were seated by the entrance to the abortion clinic in the Suntree Plaza in Melbourne. The packets made referrals to numerous alternative reproductive health service providers, and also provided educational information about abortion. They accepted the packets. At that point an employee, Lisa Sanford, came rushing out the door and immediately interfered by grabbing all materials from the women, telling them I had no right to be there talking with them. Lisa again interfered by posturing herself to keep me from giving any further counsel and rallied the women inside. When I realized it would not be possible for me to continue counseling, I left the premises as I did not want to be involved in confrontation at the abortion clinic.
I abhor violence and physical interference at abortion clinics. Isn’t the time way past due for the FBI to stop this sort of violation of law, where pro-life counselors are victimized? I will be anxious for your response, as I fear continued interference in providing reproductive health services.
Sincerely,
Nancy M. Lally [signed]
