By Carol Gentry, St. Petersburg Times

TALLAHASSEE – Three St. Petersburg obstetricians involved in a 1984 drug-diversion scheme were disciplined Friday by the state board of medicine.

The licenses of Drs. Harold Ticktin and Gary Dresden were suspended for 90 days. The doctors also were reprimanded, put on three years’ probation and fined $1,000.

The three were among six St. Petersburg doctors who pleaded guilty in federal court in 1985 to conspiracy in the sample-drug case.
