When society opens, it opens to everything. Crime will increase; violence will increase.

We can’t afford to say, “Have an open society and do whatever you want to do” without giving people the Gospel and the understanding that without the Lordship of Christ, freedom will destroy us. Without a moral foundation, freedom to the flesh will only destroy us. Economic freedom alone is not enough. Political freedom alone is not enough. Academic freedom alone is not enough. If people have these things without a moral foundation, they will wish they were back under tyranny. And in fact that is what will happen. They will go back under some form of tyranny for self-preservation.

The Gospel is the only hope of the world. It is today more so than ever before.
